Time: all day
Location: Museum of Transport, Greater Manchester Boyle St, Cheetham Hill, Manchester M8 8UWLink for more information: https://motgm.uk/events-themed.html#inclusive
The Museum of Transport is holding an event aimed at welcoming and supporting disabled visitors to get the most out of a visit to the museum. As well as all the wonderful vintage buses on display, there’ll also be a modern Bee Network bus and Ring & Ride bus on site all day.For anyone a bit nervous about travelling by bus, it’s an opportunity to try out a modern bus with ramp, audio and visual announcements, hearing induction loop, wheelchair spaces and anti-slip flooring, with no time pressure. There’ll be drivers and Bee Network staff on hand to help and answer questions – as well as take any feedback.
For anyone who needs a quieter atmosphere to enjoy the museum, we recommend visiting in the afternoon. At 3pm when the museum usually gets quieter, they’ll turn off bright lights and turn down the volume on all video displays to create a more relaxed, sensory-friendly environment. There’ll be a guided tour at 11am with BSL interpreters.

- Kyrie Farm online meeting – with Peter Kinderman
Date: Tuesday 2nd September
Time: 6.30-8pm
Zoom link: register on Eventbrite https://CHARMKyrieFarm.eventbrite.co.ukKyrie Farm is a new therapeutic initiative that will open in Ireland in 2026. It is based on a vision by the McKeon family after the loss of their son and brother. Based on the concept of therapeutic farms such as Gould Farm, founded in 1913 and Hopewell Farm, founded in 1993, the aim is to create a healing environment for people experiencing mental health challenges and support them to move toward recovery, health, and greater independence. The farm will employ a recovery-oriented, rights-based, and person-centered approach, offering a range of mental health interventions and holistic therapies. Created with the support of a lived experience panel, the farm has been developed to honour and value lived experience.
Peter Kinderman is a professor of Clinical Psychology, and has worked at the universities of Liverpool and Manchester, is a Clinical Psychologist in independent practice and a member of the Board of Directors of Kyrie Farm. He will talk about the farm’s development, its principles and the hopes that the team at Kyrie farm hold for a more therapeutic and healing environment for people suffering deep mental distress. There will also be time for discussion.

Lived Experience Partners are people with either:
– direct personal experience of living with long term physical or mental health conditions/disabilities and health inequalities; or,
– experience as an unpaid carer of a family member who is living with long term physical or mental health conditions/disabilities, and who experiences health inequalities.
Our Lived Experience Partners work with us to inform and influence National Voices’ work, providing unique insight and expertise, and bringing a diverse variety of experiences and skills. They support us to deliver our work in a way that balances power with people with lived experience. This ensures our work is rooted in the reality and experiences of people on the ground using the health and care system. - Mapping power in the Mad movement (Network Meeting September 2025)
