CHARM continues to support the industrial action by GMMH staff from the Early Intervention Teams. Our support has been very much appreciated by the workers and our continuing conversatio0ns on the picket line and the attendance of the Team at out CHARM meetings has led to a close working relationship with frontline workers that we intend to develop further. Can you please pass on our thanks to everyone in CHARM and Community Works for all the support this week?
The best thing we’ve achieved with this strike action has already happened and that’s connecting up with both your groups.
Please pass on our thanks and I do not think we’d still be battling if it was not for your groups.
I’m not just saying that……having your members attending, speaking out, campaigning, offering support and the effort you all make us an inspiration to us and it as an antidote to those moments where we get a bit fed up or hopeless or forget that this battle is much bigger and more important than our little service. So thank you all so much.

CHARM supporters joined staff from Manchester’s three early intervention in psychosis teams outside the headquarters of Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, in Prestwich. The strike was called to draw attention to the crisis in mental health support in Manchester and because GMMH is no longer able to provide adequate care to some of the most vulnerable people in society, unless they are on the verge of crisis or death.

We wanted to pass on our thanks to each of you for your support at the strike on Wednesday and in the lead up. Your organisation and efforts are an inspiration to us and we are proud to be associated with such a great bunch of people.
