CHARM Projects CIC is seeking two volunteer Directors to join us at an important stage in our development.

Since 2020, CHARM—the Community for Holistic, Accessible, Rights-Based Mental Health—has brought together people with lived experience, families, community organisations, practitioners and researchers to campaign for compassionate, socially just and rights-based responses to mental distress.

Our current Directors bring extensive lived experience, community development and academic research knowledge. We now want to strengthen the Board by welcoming people with skills in:

– Governance and organisational development
– Finance, accounting or budget management
– Fundraising strategy, grant applications or bid writing
– Strategic planning
– Project or volunteer management

We are particularly interested in people who have experience of developing voluntary or community organisations and who share CHARM’s commitment to human rights, social justice and non-coercive approaches to supporting people experiencing deep mental distress.

We warmly welcome applications from people with lived experience.

## Why join CHARM now?

CHARM Projects CIC is entering an exciting period of growth. In 2027, Manchester will host the **World Hearing Voices Congress**, and CHARM has also secured funding to strengthen our fundraising and organisational development.

Our new Directors will help us make the most of these opportunities while ensuring that CHARM grows sustainably and remains accountable to its values and communities.

## Practical information

This is a flexible, unpaid Director role. Most work can be undertaken remotely, and Directors may live anywhere in the UK. However, it would be valuable
